JAK Hire has proudly supported the Devon County Show for five years, delivering ground protection solutions across various high-traffic areas of the showground. During the most recent event, we were recommended to a leading automotive brand looking to build a temporary off-road demonstration track to showcase the capabilities of the new Range Rover.
The Challenge
The client needed a robust, level base that could support repeated vehicle movements and highlight the vehicle’s off-road handling — without damaging the showground or creating unnecessary reinstatement work. The surface had to be installed quickly, safely, and without disrupting other show logistics.
There was also a degree of uncertainty in the lead-up around the size and shape of the area needed, requiring flexibility in planning and mat allocation.
The Solution
Through early engagement and planning discussions, JAK Hire worked closely with the event team to determine the exact size of the demonstration zone and the most suitable ground protection layout. Our team:
